Houston Central Library As A Third Place

Scheduled to reopen in late 2007 will be a renovated Houston Central Library. The planned renovation include:

  • Art displays
  • Contemporary Furniture
  • A cafe
  • New children's and teens room
  • A Better technology
  • Wireless network

The Library renovation seems a good response to libraries as a gathering place. Libraries that have the potential to attract people in new ways. Plazas, cafes, art displays, free offerings, a pleasant atmosphere for browsing and technology within a safe environment.

I am sure it will be worth the wait!
